Bridge on Jalan Pete Cilangkap Inaugurated

East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Head, Benhard Hutajulu, inaugurated the connecting bridge between villages on Jalan Pete, Cilangkap, Cipayung East Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/29).

It was attended by Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD)'s Commission D Secretary, Syarif; Cipayung Panangaran Sub-district Head, Ritonga; and Cilangkap Urban Village Head, Nasir Sugiar.

The inauguration of the bridge that stretches over Cilangkap Connecting Channel (Phb) was marked by the cutting of the ribbon and the signing of the inscription by officials. The bridge connects areas of RW 02, 03 and 06, Cilangkap Urban Village.

According to him, the bridge repair took three months. It was done, as the bridge was often flooded when the channel overflowed. He hoped, it could create a sense of safe and comfortable for the passing people.

"This bridge is an alternative route to avoid traffic jams on Jalan Raya Cilangkap," he said.

DPRD's Commission D Secretary, the repair is a follow-up to people's aspirations through the council members' recess. He appreciated the East Jakarta administration that had realized it.

"Finally it's come true. This bridge can still be passable by vehicles, even though the surrounding area is flooded considering the position is higher," he stated.

Next year, her party would propose about 12 bridges to be repaired. Eight of them were bridges between villages which were only about 1.5 meters width and five to six meters length.

RW Cilangkap LMK, Dwi Hartanti added, residents really appreciate the completion of the repair, as now they feel safe to cross the bridge when it rains, moreover it is not disturbed by the flooding from the overflowing Cilangkap Phb.

"Thank you. Locals here have been waiting for this bridge to be repaired for a long time," she said.
